Allison’s Story
Art Program at Virginia Commonwealth University
Thank you for awarding me this scholarship to attend the Art Program at Virginia Commonwealth University. As an aspiring artist, this opportunity gives me the chance to strengthen my artistic skills, explore new forms of creative expression, learn from accomplished instructors, and connect with other students who share my passion for art.
Attending VCU is especially exciting because its School of the Arts is one of Virginia’s premier art schools and is recognized across the country. Having the chance to learn in such an inspiring and creative environment is a great honor. It is also an important step toward reaching my goal of pursuing art after high school.
Without this scholarship, attending the program might not have been possible for me. Your support represents encouragement, and confidence in my potential. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to grow creatively, gain confidence in my abilities, and take a meaningful step toward pursuing a future in the arts.
Serhii’s Story
Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity · George Mason University
Serhii’s journey embodies the mission of Halcyon True North. When war erupted in Ukraine, his father—a Ukrainian military officer attending training in the United States—returned home to defend his country, leaving Serhii, his mother, and his sister to rebuild their lives here amid tremendous uncertainty.
Rather than allowing adversity to dictate his future, Serhii graduated from high school two years early and enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College. Halcyon True North was privileged to fund his first semester while the college helped secure the scholarships and financial aid that would carry him forward.
Serhii ultimately graduated from George Mason University with a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, demonstrating that a small investment at a pivotal moment can help transform extraordinary determination into lifelong opportunity.
Deanna’s Story
Envision Health & Medicine Program, UCLA
I want to sincerely thank you for awarding me this scholarship to attend the Envision Health and Medicine Summer Program at UCLA. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to participate in such an inspiring and educational experience.
Throughout the week, I learned so much about the many different careers in healthcare and what it truly means to care for patients. One of my favorite parts of the program was participating in hands-on activities, including medical simulations, practicing clinical skills, and working through real-world patient scenarios. These experiences gave me a better understanding of teamwork, communication, and critical thinking in healthcare settings.
Thank you again for all you do and support.
